Hey All,
Just bought a new 216WT, loved the lines, the multi-purpose, and the price of the boat. Any tips for delivery, first use? Haven't owned a boat in 20 years so any, even the most basic tips would be welcome. Thanks

Re: New Tahoo 216wt

Congrats on your purchase. Which Arlington do you hail from?

Hopefully you have read some of the posts in the Tahoe forum. There is a lot of good information there. You will undoubtedly notice a general dislike for the big box stores (Bass Pro, Gander Mtn, etc.) when it comes to service. If you bought at one of these, I would seriously consider finding a local type Tahoe dealer to have your service done.

Good luck and if you have specific questions, put them up.

Re: New Tahoo 216wt

Thanks Folks. I live over by Lake Arlington, though I don't know how often we will be on that lake with no swimming and all. The financing got held up as I forgot I had put a fraud alert on my account awhile back. No big deal...will pick it up next weekend instead. I did see negative towards the "big box" so I stayed with a local guy instead, plus the "big box" never seems to have the same push for customer service. It has the 4.3 MPI which puts out 190 horses I think. I also got a chuckle out of this forum that one or two unfortunate individuals that had nightmare experiences, condemn all tracker boats. For the price, I didn't see ANYTHING close to what I liked on the Tahoe. Had a couple of sales guys from other dealers tell me they wished the manufacturers they represented would come out with something like the Tahoe line. Anyhow, thanks again for the response. Been awhile since I owned a boat, so if you have any tips on what/not to do, would appreciate it.

Hey there -

I just bought the same boat, except with the 5.0 / 260HP engine.

I'm excited as well. I agree -- we looked at a lot of other boats, and found that the non-box stores were willing to negotiate prices a lot more.

I'd love any tips anyone has too! First time boat owner here.

begbie,
How much did you pay? We got ours (2008) for $26k plus TTL. Also as retired military I got $550 in cash off that $26k

Re: New Tahoo 216wt

Congrats on the new boat!!! The Tahoes sure do look nice. I have to ask since I am in the market for a Tahoe as well, how much was the boat advertised for vs. how much did you buy for? Basically how much dealing were you able to get the dealer to do for you? I guess ultimately I'm just curious how much room they do actually have to move past the "no haggle" price lol.

Thanks and congrats again on the boat,
Mike

First thing is to use the proper brake methods as told in the manual. Make sure you have the proper safety equipment, tool box, spare prop ect. and be sure and have fun. Good luck.

We were looking at the 2008 in clearance and they just got our boat in...still in the shipping packaging. They shot us the price and didn't budge. We shopped at 5 different Tracker dealerships and they seemed to stick to the no haggle pricing. If you are going to finance, there seems to be a lot of room there. They quoted us 8%, but we found a loan at 6.15% through Pentagon Federal credit union. Good luck on your search...stressful process

Re: New Tahoo 216wt

Sorry for the slow response.

Here's the boat we bought:

2008 - Tahoe 216 WT
MerCruiser 5.0 Litre - MPi - 260hp
Trailstar Custom Tandem Axle Trailer
Hydraulic Surge Disc Trailer Brakes
Swing-Away Trailer Tongue
Aerated Livewell
On- Demand Freshwater Sink
AM/FM CD Player
Transom Remote for Stereo
Snap - In Carpet
Bow Filler Cushion

2008 - Tahoe 216 WT - $ 36,905 (advertised price)

we ended up paying 30,500. Felt like it was a pretty good deal, although 26 sounds even nicer!

Sounds like a nice boat! We saw the bigger engine for about $3k more so I think you did pretty good too! Was there a reason you went with the V-8? the V-6 seems pretty powerful. Congrats again!

Re: New Tahoo 216wt

Congratulations on your new boat.

Since you've had your boat about a month, I'd go over all the screws, nuts and bolts, especially those on the bimini top.

Then check out your fluid levels, and you should be good to go for the rest of the summer.

Yep, everything that had a screw in it was loose! Tightened everything, other than that, smooth running

Re: New Tahoo 216wt

I have a new Q6 that had loose screws/nuts everywhere after the first trip out. So far that seems to be the only problem. I'm going to keep checking it for a while, and have the dealer check everything when I go in for the break in service. After that, I plan on doing my own service, but I want them to have it the first time.
