Just wanted to say hi and that I am new to this forum and just picked up my 2010 Q5i yesterday. Took it out on the water for a couple hours and loved it. Is there anything about the Tahoe's that I need to know that is different from other brand boats. It has the 4.3L I/O.

Congratulations on your new boat. This is a great thread for information on Tahoes. You'll find many on here ready and willing to answer any questions you may have.

I think you'll find most on here love their Tahoe, but they do require regular maintenance and attention to make sure screws stay tightened, hoses are in place, etc.

Have a great summer on the water!

Congratulations and welcome. The only thing that I would add is that no matter what type of boat you own, the trim tabs from Nauticus are an inexpensive improvement for handling and mileage and overall performance. Also, the 4.3L came in a fuel injected MPI model or carb model. It is important to be specific if you ever post questions concerning the year make and model of your boat. The first thing you will want to do is go through the boat with a screwdriver and double check that all of the screws are tightened. Sometimes this gets missed during the QA process or during shipping things will tend to vibrate loose. I have also heard on this forum that using a local dealer for service has been much easier and trouble free than using the Bass Pro service centers. I do believe that individual results may vary.
Have fun!

Congrats on the boat purchase. I'd swear your question is just a set up for Tahoe quality bashers. I saw your boat in the Tracker ad this morning.

Not to hijack the thread, but did you get special mounts for the tabs, or go with the stock ones. I seem to remember someone talking about a special mount they got because of the hull shape.

I'm in a '08 Q6, and looking to buy them soon.

Re: New Tahoe Owner

Thanks everyone. I got the carb model and I did go thru a local dealer they are really good to work with. When you talk about tightening all the screws, does that apply for all boats or just Tahoe's. We have had it out a couple time and so far we love it. It has been 11 years since we had a boat but so far I am not sure I would need the trim tabs. To me it seems to get on plane and out of the hole just fine. Had it up to 50 miles per hour and by the way I wouldn't go on a forum just to bash someone else's boat but I know there are people that do. The last boat we had was a Searay that we bought new and we had plenty of issues with it but I would appreciate any advice, tips, tricks, and so forth since its been a looong time since we had one.:D

Thanks

Re: New Tahoe Owner

Dear Kaylex, welcome to the tahoe forum. I think you`ll find a wealth of knowledge and advice on this site like all the rest of us. It`s also nice to talk with people who own the same types of boats, as we will probably see similar problems which will undoubtedly arise. As for loose screws, the only ones I`ve seen on my 06 Q6 are the screws on the knobs for the walk thru windshield. I applied a drop of loctite on the screws and tightened them up. Problem solved. Welcome aboard.
