Been thinking of selling my 20 foot pontoon and going back to a fiberglass boat. Was looking at a new 21 foot Tahoe 210s with a 115hp Yamaha. I mainly boat inland lakes but would to go play out in the bay at lake erie. I remember back in the day tahoe boats had a bad reputation, but wondering if the new one have changed

They are more expensive than they used to be. However I do not have any aditional experience over any Tahoe newer than 2012

Oops I was wrong about the engine, I met to say 150 not 115
Still rather small for a 21’ boat. Would expect to see 175 to 225HP on a well powered 21’ boat

Then again, how is the boat being measured? Measured at the water line or overall length?

Sitting side by side, my 22’ boat (22’-6”) is as long as most boats marketed as 24’ long.

No practical in-water experience with them. Have crawled on/over/around them at boat shows and my local big chain sportsman store (the one with a largemouth bass as a logo).

They look nice but a lot of the fit/finish leaves something to be desired so I personally wouldn't own one. Having seen the "prep" work done on these to be presented at shows or at my local sportsman store...nope.

To give an example. We opened a hatch up in one recently on the show room floor. Found standing water and the beginnings of mold growth. If that's deemed "good" dealer prep by the manufacturer, I don't wanna see what their quality control is like on the manufacturing floor.

That goes for the Tracker line too. Again, personal preference.

Friends of ours have a Q5 that is about 10-12 years old. Boat has held up well fabric gel coat etc, they take reasonable care (cover etc) but are not overly protective of it. no issue with the boat, just understand its more of entry level boat-in terms of fit finish and amenities .
one thing i would mention that boat is 20 or 21 ft with a 8+ person capacity?115 hp is probably a little small depending on if you want to have a relatively full boat or do water sports. I would check what the max hp rating is for the boat, i bet 115 is about half. Doesnt mean it wont work for you needs just make sure you understand what you are buying.
ive had two boats in the last 26 years one with the smallest engine offered and one with the biggest offered. both worked just the higher hp is much better all around… except it cost more too…
