1996 Force 75HP;
I had the water pump changed four weeks ago. While trolling the the water indicator "pee" starts drlibling down to nothing. When I go to idle the pee picks up. Then back to troll the pee stops again. I notice water, under pressure coming from around the shift rod on the lower unit and yet no pee where it shoud be coming form. I feel this is not normal, being I have been around boats most of my life. The marine dealer states that this is normal. my question is this a normal situation and I just do not know any better?

I can't speak spicificly to Force motors but it doesn't seem normal to me.
water goes to the powerhead through a tube eventually to the exhaust leg.
It would seem to me there may be some sort of leak between the pump and the power head.About how long does it take at first start up for water to come out of the telltale?
Does it seem longer than before?
Did water come out before the new pump?

Re: new pump no pee @ trolling speed

I always remember a stream of water while trolling when the pump was in working condition prior to new installation. I had a mechanic with me to run the boat, of course the pump pee'd at low speed while he was with me. He checked to make sure there was no overheat, with his sensor and there was no problem. I am not comfortable with the water coming from around the shift bar in the lower unit, but maybe I am becoming overly observant at this point. I brought the boat home, I plan on runing it this weekend. I may become a do it myself person again.
