Looked fun. Some would say taking the top off is unnecessary, but despite the additoinal pain in the butt factor, it makes it so much easier to work in the boat with the top removed, and the completed project turns out better in my opinion. It'll be sweet when it is done...

i didnt want to take the top and motor off. until i found the wood and foam in the very back. now i will have much more room, and do a complete resoration, and i should even be able to flip the hull when i get it sanded down. is there much of a problem of the hull changing shape and not getting the top on, or should i put the top on the install the stringers.

Take lots of measurements of the width, about every six inches, at floor level. When Installing new stringers, keep checking width, check the hull to make sure no warping, hooking, or bowing is occuring. You could flip it when it is a gutted shell, just be careful as the sides aren't that strong when the top is off.
