Boat wasnt bad, but was starting to fade. It also had a patch where the paint didnt match. I did this with rustoleum paint. Took a few hours but wasnt too bad. Kinda rushed through it so its not perfect, has a few runs/lines arent perfect. But its better that it was.

Probably going to get hot though...

Re: New paint job

Did you do this directly over the old paint? Did you do any prep first? What kind of primer? How did you apply the paint? Is rustoleum what alot of guys use, does it hold up and look smooth(professional) in person?

sanded everything sown with 160 grit (i think thats what it was)
What kind of primer?
rustoleum oil based
How did you apply the paint?
roll/tip

not sure, but its cheaper. thinned it a little with acetone, then added a hardener (gives it a glossy finish)

not sure how well its going to hold up, should be pretty good though. There is a slight texture, probably because i used the wrong roller when doing primer and didnt go over it with a brush

Re: New paint job

Sooooooo, why did you feel the need to start a complete new thread for your paint job when you already had one that would have answered all of these questions. This is exactly why the Forum asks you to keep your Post ALL together when you have a project.
