new owner and member here! A couple questions about my 1990 glastron sierra I just bought hope this is the right forum!

- it shifts very smoothly into reverse but forward takes a moment and with the revs up slightly it clunks in, is there a linkage issue or something common with these?
- the gauges are all not very accurate, is there a main harness plug that could have corrosion or something in it?
-the two captains chairs are not in very good condition should I recover them or is there a better price to be had on an aftermarket set somewhere?
-it has a trim gauge and switch on the throttle lever but when I use the button the gauge remains in the center and it appears to do nothing?
Thanks all!!

Re: new owner with questions!

First, welcome to iboats.

In this forum, it doesn't really matter what kind of boat you have, we need to know what engine and drive you have. Serial numbers are always welcome.

For info on your chairs, you might want to post in the boat topics forums, this forum is for engines and drives.

It could be adjustment issue, your cables may be showing some excess slop not allowing it to move far enough to get full stroke.
You can try adjusting it, below is the instructions. Also, follow all the steps, and don't skip something because you don't think it the problem. It usually turns out to be the real problem.
