I am a new owner of a 1978 hawaiian jet boat. I inherited this boat from my father recently. I am very attached to the boat and woudl like to keep it. There is no manual, so specification info... nothing. I am going to be purchasing a new car and I need to make sure that I can tow the boat without causing any damages to the new car. If someone can help me find the approximate weight of a 1978 hawaiin out board boat I would REALLY appreciate it.

Re: New owner needs boat weight

Ayuh,........ Welcome Aboard to the forums here at iboats,....

Is the boat towable right Now,..??.....
Is there a Truckstop, Grain Mill, Gravel Quarry, or Moving Company anywhere near the boat,..??..??....

If So,............ Tow it over,+ Weigh it,......
That's the Only way to Know for Sure............

But,.......
I'll venture a Guess at 3500lbs....................;)

As Bond-o says, go to a weigh scale. Stop with your rear bumper still over the platform, unhitch the trailer and set the tongue on the platform along with the wheels to get a true total weight.

If there's no scales nearby, tell us a bit more about the boat for a better estimate.
You called it a jet boat first, then said outboard, which one? What engine/outboard HP? Length of boat? Fiberglass/wood/aluminum?
