Hi everybody, I just bought my first boat. 1986 Bayliner Capri with AQ131A and a 275 outdrive. It wasn't running when I bought it and the guy told me that he thought that the timing belt had skipped a tooth. So I spent a weekend working on it and finally got the belt all lined up (I don't have a lot of mechanic experience). I charged the battery and finally got it started HURRAY
Anywho my question is this: The engine feels like it wants to stall/hesitates when I "hit the throttle" hard, it actually died a couple of times. If I do it gradually it runs ok. What should I do to get this fixed? Also how can I tell if the impeller is running and water is going through the pipes? Thank you in advance, I am new to boating and any help will be greatly appreciated.
