Has anyone heard of dealers selling reconditioned resort motors and not disclosing that they are not new?

I belive that is against the law and would contact the company that the dealer holds the franchise with and make them aware of whats going on.

not an outboard, but a friend of mine is involved in a lawsuit right now against a un named car dealership. They sold him a "demo" model. Turns out is was a low mileage repo. They told him the mileage on it was from the sales people driving it. When he got the paper work he found it had been titled before. It is against the law, but dealers still do it.

I'm referring to resort motors reconditioned and sold without disclosing that info to customer. I was told that has happened in WI. A dealer told he would be reluctant to take my 2005 8hp 4stroke in for that possible reason.

I know that but if car dealers would do it what would cause outboard dealers from doing it. I have not heard of it, but would not deny it if anyone does it.
