I don't have the #'s with me but I seen them @ work the statistics of crane related accidents are astronomical. Anything can happen and Ito hope that fellow is ok.

Crane operator is physically unharmed, you can see him running from the cab in the video. He may be unemployed, though.

New cranes are computerized so you can't pick more than your setup, assuming you put the pads down. New one at the tank place frustrated the heck out of the operator till he finally got convinced that it was saving his bacon. He used to tear up things on the old crane, and hasn't been able to hurt the new one.

I know it's not funny (to all involved anyway) but still a great one to watch. That goodness no one was hurt.

Load chart. We don't need no stinking load chart. :) LOL.
To bad we didn't have all the details. Curious as to whether it was an overload caused by one crane swinging faster than ther other. Or just over loaded.

Wow!
At least the boat was launched and the crane and operator didn't end up in the water.

Wow, didn't notice there were two cranes. Looked like the second one started over, then its strap slipped off the boat....

Not at my job you couldn't. There would be a stop work order and no work would resume untill there was a full incident investigation. If there was a resulting injury it would require an OSHA investigation. I was once a qualified crane operator at my job (10 ton overhead crane). With revisions in our safety policies I am now only qualified to use the crane for special circumstances.Ssingle pick point, under a certain weight, crane operation approved by our mechanical safety officer in advance. Even then I'm not sure if I am allowed to use the crane as I have not gone through all parts of the new certification program.

My point is that a mishap like that is a huge deal even if nobody was hurt. If these were qualified operators than what went wrong??
