Hello everyone, I am new to the site as you can see. I currently have a 12 foot SeaKing I was in the middle of restoring before this heatwave hit Pittsburgh.
My brother has told me I can have a boat belonging to his girlfriends grandfather. I know absolutely nothing about this boat other than it appears to be a Larson, maybe late 60's? It is of fiberglass construction. It has sat for 7 years uncovered, comes with a trailer, 9.9 motor, trolling motor, and original seats and steering wheel are in the house (believed).
I have done some patchwork on aluminum over the years on my Seaking, but with this turn of events I will be putting my half completed aluminum boat up for sale so I can get a few bucks to work on the new, bigger boat!
If anyone can tell me what boat this exactly is it would be appreciated. Also, what should I look for while cleaning it up? I am unfamiliar with glass boats and no nothing about fiberglass work. I am assuming there may be some damage from freezing and thawing for 7 years in the open; is that too damaging to the boat? I will post more pictures when I get a chance to go pick it up.
Thanks for the help everyone!
