If it was working before and now its not, recheck your installation.
Did you bottom out the shift cable in the housing?
Did you set the screw in the shift slide correctly?
Does the shift slide bottom out in the housing?
Is the guide sleeve threaded all the way into the outer sheath?
One thing I do know is the guide sleeve is not all the way in. Because I can't get down to my 6" if I do. So I have to leave it out bout 1/2" then Tighten jam nut.

Then something is not correct. You need to assemble everything for the cable before you put the drive on. Then do your fwd adjustment, then check shift and adjust for neu/rev accordingly

Right. But it's like the cable ain't long enough. I this is the second one I'll be putting on thinkin first one was wrong. But obviously something messed up. Is it possible to adjust all cables without putting drive back on?

Well guys. I'd like to thank you all who chimed in.
Here was the problem. When everyone says lock prop on ccw position I did that but I didn't strap it or chock it. I just thought I got it locked-why would it move??? Well it does. I was easily able to get my 6" ---my reverse is maxed out but does engage. So for now good to go. Not sure why it be maxed out with new cable but at this point who cares. It works. Lmao. Thank again. I was thinking after I started posting it would takes weeks to get reply's and answers. You guys rock!!!!

Yeah, the undercut gears will stay engaged when there's a load on the prop, otherwise easy to come out of gear
