just got johnson 65hp 50th anniversary hydro elictric dont have vin plate on it need to no what model it is to get some parts for it and it came with no batt cables and dont no were the hook on motor this is first boat and motor ever owned can any one help thank you

1972 (?)
There may be a round plug on the power head that has the model number stamped on it.

The negative (-) hooks to the block
The positive (+) hooks to the big terminal on the starter solenoid

Did you get the complete wiring and controls for the motor?
If it is a 1972 65 HP, then it an electric shift gearcase that is pretty useless without working controls
