Re: NEW HONDA BF 225 TOO HEAVY?

Mike, happy to hear you are enjoying your engines. One word of caution, if the 15 Hp Honda is moving around a little on you in rough water, use a heavy bungee cord to hold it forward under pressure when you are up and running. I and 3-4 friends who run the Hondas have broke the tilt mechanisms and they are a bear to fix, not to mention 60-70 $ for parts.
I have electric start on mine so don't notice the hard start in cold weather, but I do use the manual choke. I also use a Trol-eze electric/hydralic cylinder system for steering. It is made by Goetz Engineering.

Thanks for the updates Mike.. I am getting closer and closer to pulling the trigger on a BF225 myself. Early spring I think. From what I have read and the research conducted, it will be a good decision.

Mike, don't know if they have a web site or not. Below is the address:
Goetz Engineering Inc.
4907 Industrial Avenue East
Coeur d'Alene ID 83815-8940
208-664-6438 fax 208-664-8130
EGGERS BEARING & SUPPLY
** The Go-Kart Shop ** same address

I have good service from them. I have been using my unit since 1989 and had one rebuild of electric motor as I give it a lot of hours of usage while trolling for Salmon.
