Nice boat, where abouts are you, didn't think there was as many wildcat owners over here, maybe we should start a club?

Re: new here

hi guys a club would be a good idea iam in doncaster southyorkshire , SOME INFO this boat was sunk at bridlington by inept tractor drivers and has been completely rebuilt after being submerged in salt water and sand for 6hrs . . the engine has a billet stainless steel crank and marine profile cam with dart heads and racing pistons the fuel tanks is remade in alluminium and sits under the floor . with a brand new electric's through out and new dash instruments , new carpets and upholstery , streeing cables and throttle box , new engine risers , new carb , new z-leg , new lighting , all bolts replashed with button head stainless bolts , marine grade bespoke ski tower , several starter motors as the compression in the engine was stripping the teeth , the compression is 150psi as standard ours is now measured at 210psi when the engine is cold , it now costs ?100 to do 75 mile . with all the work thats been done to the boat we could have bought a new one but wheres the fun in that :):):):):)

Re: new here

Mine pails into insignifificance (that spelt right) compaired to that, 1972 wildcat pail blue, been doing it up for two years now loosing interest, had to get a new engind 3.0 mercruiser 4 pot. Paid 900 for the engine. Then the leg was toast so had to pick one up, ebay eventually, got it all together lining up was a pain, had to make a tool, so now it runs, or at least it did last august the last time it ran.
Tried to take it up to loch Lomond to test it before I started on the inside, my thoughts being that if it wasn't up to the job I wouldn't be carrying on with it.
But the trailer that its on only has mini wheels and no brakes. So, we strapped it to a car transporter and one of the guys was supposed to take it up but he bottled it and took it back so when we all got up there he was without the Wildcat. Since then I have put an axle off a Fiat ducato on springs under it, and am in the process of trying to find an overun coupling and sorting the brakes out. Hopefully I can test it this year and then build some seats into it,

Seems to be a few of us

Seems to be a few of us

I've been restoring the sky blue wildcat (now red) bought it down in devon, and shipped it back to east anglia. The boat had no screen no engine nothing...since then like the rest of you guys i've spent just a bit!

Built new screen from scatch-took 6 months but looks nearly as good as the original

New floor, paint job and loads of extras

Just wondering still about outboard, i know you guys run inboards but what do you think she'll take and as i'm going to be skiing most

what would you recommend?

Also I love the finished look of that roll bar when you did yours up did you put in ballast anywhere or does she ride flat still?

cheers

Re: new here

hi james the boat would be well suited to a 150 hp to 200hp outboard no problems i think, we had a 16 foot fletcher with a 235hp johnson on the back but some times water would come over the transom , i learnt to ski behind a 15 foot simms with a 75hp on the back , the prblem u have is the price of fuel its not cheao if u can get a four stoke or a two stroke that mixes the engine oil as its running that would be better than having to mix it yourself , there a plack on are winner that says made in glamorgan wales

Re: new here

Daz,

Being up on the sea somtimes with bad weather weather, i've kept the interior so it can be hosed out, in the splashwell at the rear, fibreglass floor with non slip surface. and i've built two seat onto a box for the front driver passenger with storage underneath...no pics as yet but will drop you some if I do
