I inherited an old 14' v-hull that my Grandfather and Great Uncle had bought to do a bit of river fishing...Then they came along abuilt a dam...WA LAH....Lake Walter F. George.
I have also been fortunate enough to come across an Evinrude "Lightwin 3" outbaord...
The numbers inicate a 1959 Model 3030 .....
The boat is clean...The trailer has been sandblasted, painted, re-wired, and re-shoed...
Next is the motor...
I know NOTHING about outboards.....
Assuming an engine is an engine...I am olanning to disassemble this rascal (It turns over very easily)...
My question to anyone out there..........
What to look for...?
What to expect...? Gummy carb, bad fuel lines, etc?
Any insight will be GREATLY APPRECIATED ! ! !
Most of my life i have been fishing on private lakes/ponds...like the one behind my house.
I want to start taking my 11 yr old son to some public waters to help teach him some water etiquite.
