hay everyone . i am new to this community and would like to say thanks for having me . a week ago i got a call from my cuz and he told me if i wanted his boat i could have it . i know the motor is perfect as we just rebuilt it less then two months ago lol . nut now as the new owner of the boat its up to me to install the new floor . the floor and stringers are a complete rot . almost nothing left to them . so here i am off on another adventure with my i be-leave to me a 1987 mark twain sonic . only thing i am not sure of yet is the year still got to go pick up the title he just found it yesterday . i will be around for awhile got many of questions i am sure threw this . there is a guy on youtube i know is a member here as he has talked about this site a few time his name is FriscoJarretts . his videos are helping me alot

Glad you found your way over to iboats... Great people, great resources, etc...

Keeping watching all of Jay's videos from start to finish... Also, check out his SeaRay thread on this site. Its basically the gospel on what you are about to embark on (and all the youtube videos are imbedded in it). It will also make you see how tough (and expensive) this is and you can examine whether you really want to do this before you jump in.

I am 9 months and pretty significant money into my rebuild. I am really enjoying it, and learning a ton, but that's because I have a screw loose and like to do things that other people find disgusting, foolish or impractical.

thanks for the welcomes . this boat is going to be a complete restro as of right now . wife told me i can buy another boat why i build this one the way i like . hopefully the weather holds out tomorrow since i am off work and i can get the motor back out and really start going to town . i will start a complete restro thread for everyone to follow as i go on threw this

Good lookin' old boat!...sorta looks like a Wellcraft. Lots of fun/work on the inside but just rip in there and get it done! Good Luck!:)

well its a sad day yet a good day .i was working on the boat when a guy walked up and asked me if i would like to sell my boat . joking around i threw out a number at him and he said i will be back latter . next thing i know hes back cash in hand . i look at the wife and said is it ok with you . she said well only if you take that money and what you have saved to put into it and go buy one we can get on the water with . so long story short i said good buy to the old girl and kissed her good by . now to find a good boat for the right price lol
