Hello, couple of questions about my new to me motor, '89 115 Mariner:
1. When i start it up (muffs or in the water) it takes a few minutes for it to start pumping (peeing) water. Is this normal?
2. It is oil injected. What is the mix ratio? (just incase the injection fails)

Thanks, lowdollar

Yes, It will take a little while because the motor must first fill. 50:1 ratio.

If you don't know how long it has been sense the water pump was rebuilt you should at least check it. Impeller needs to be changed every year (cheap insurance) also while your down there check and change the lower unit oil. Inspect the wiring harness for any sign of loose connections of insulation decaying.

Take care of it and Enjoy it.
