A 20' deep garage does not have 20' of interior space.
And if its 2x6 construction, you have about 18'9" inside the door.
So, my current Chevy van would not fit, and my second car, a 1978 Mark V wouldn't either.
Yup, its always less than the specified dimension. Figure the loss to be double the thickness of the walls.
My old 20 footer was 19'5" long. It didn't have drywall, so that's why it wasn't an inch shorter. I never saw a garage made with twobysixes. Where I live we usually go that route only on the house to get more insulation.
My wife's old Chevyvan was 16.78 feet long. Her current Chevy Traverse is 16.98' In the past we had a massive Chevy Suburban that was 18.70 feet long.
In the old days we had a Pontiac Catalina 4-door. I don't have the specs on that old land yacht, but i remember it had only an inch or 2 left in the old 20' garage. But it did fit.
I'm not a Ford guy so I don't know what Lincolns measure.
