update on the console. rounded some edges, tried to make the console side better. (I can plastic weld some delrin back into it to make it smo0th maybe? or heat it up to melt it together?) added the fuse panel to it, (instead of on the wall) re-ran wires, need 2 make 2 more for ign, attach the lights and grounds. get some more connectors and heat shrink. then reinstall into my boat. at a later date i will polish it out.

Looks like it's getting really close to mounting time! What's with the little red dots on the fuse panel? Are those fuse failure indicators?? If that's the case I think I may just have to grab one of those myself! I like regular old cheap, easy to pull, buss fuses way more than the thin glass tube kind that I have in mine currently.

rewiring the console. so far i have the gauge lights done. i have to get more red spade connectors ( shorten up the pos side of the switches to fuse block) , some red and blue ring connectors. my wiring for ign and ground wires will follow the same route as the gauge lights. have to tie wrap the switch wires up. make new wires for signals and then hopefully be ready to mount up again. as you can see i have made the starboard side mount and moved the fuse block to that side. more logical as all wires come from starboard side . going to make all wires red to the fuse block. so that way there is no confusion in the wiring. Stay tuned in as more updates are too follow untill project is done. lol

i had 4 glass tube fuses in mine when i got it. i hate them. when i got my new console i also had the glass fuses with the holders. i took them out and replaced it with the fuse block. kept all other guages including the old school mph gauge you liked... and fuses with holders . might just sell all those as i wont be needing them. unless someone really needs em. i can just give them the whole package....

Those glass tube ones always seem like they're going to shatter and imbed glass super efficiently into my finger tips lol I'm going to try to hook up my old school water speed guage too and see if it still works.

well console is now all re- wired ready for reinstall into the chieftain. sad to say, but the chieftain has found a new owner and I will be sad to see it go in a week or 2. I have put alot into it. but am happy that i can finally get somewhat of a live aboard that i have been wanting. I will be posting more in a new part of the forum on my new boat when i get it and start renovating and adding some goodies. for now i give you a final glimpse of the console before i put it into the chief.
