Hi boat guys!
I'm new here, I'm a retired german guy, and like to start the adventure with a new boat. Will be the first in my life. I'm living in Lissabon, sofar I get from the window a huge river (Tejo) as well some km ahead the Atlantic ocean, 300 days per year sunshine, super wether for fishing and boating. The unexpected CoVi-19 situation gives me an add push to start with the boating.
My idea: a 21-29', GFK or wood ( ex. Chris Craft), in-border motor, second-hand, budget about 20K, with-out transport to Lis.
Why USA: I like to come there to visit some friends, as well to buy the boat, test it, eventually help to restore it, make some driving experience with an "expert", etc.
So, not too many requirements, but even something. I see a lot of YouTube presentations, very interesting, also from there come my wish to the boat. I'm not in hurry.
Me happy from feedback, not a "sentimental" one, but close to reality.
Thanks in advance and have a nice day ahead,
C

Your saying you want a wood hull boat like the old Chris Craft?

Hi, Soon to be Boater....grin,

Chris Craft made some gorgeous boats over the years. Many have been restored and there are quite a few Chris Craft boating clubs around. Lots of cabinet type craftsmen (craftspersons) out there that restore those boats....plank by plank and some post their work on the www. Greymarine made a lot of great engines for those boats and should have an adequate supply of restoration parts available.

The US Coast Guard has boating seminars and surely things posted online for one to view in the process of looking at safety aspects of boating. You might join a Chris Craft club and strike up a friendship with some of those boaters who would be THE source for the information you seek.

The size boat and budget estimate should get you into a nice size boat that would be large enough to be safe and comfortable enough for overnight, or week long boating trips if you choose.

Good luck!

Hi there,
Thanks for the answer. I just look to https://boats-from-usa.com and now I can see how huge the offer is!
Maybe I should make my request much exactly, but I'm by learning by doing.
Chris craft is ok, but a lot of other brands offer very similar to that. I'm not yet clear about the Hull Material but should be a in-border, comfortable, and saltwater, not older than 2000, on the east coast refer to the shipping costs.
The challenge goes ahead. thanks for feedbacks.
Cheers,
C.

Lots of boats from USA have been shipped to places where folks have time and ambition , but little MONEY to fix them up.----Usually there is nothing wrong with the HULL material.------Just wood structure that needs the time input.-----But buyer BEWARE of hurricane damaged boats.
