I'd like to replace the driver's side with a pedestal-type seat, maybe something that can raise and lower like an office chair but more of a fishing seat. It appears that the flooring is just plywood. It is sound and sturdy but I don't think mounting a 9" diameter pedestal base would support my 230# self. How could I reinforce that mount? I'm pretty good at carpentry but I'm sure this has been done before by one of you sly ol' crusty sailors?
Also, for the other side, and for the wifey, I'm thinking of just getting another back to back replacement, looking at Wise, seems to be a decent brand for around $300. Any better ideas? I've had this boat almost three years now and it's already paid for itself. Anything from here on out is just butter.
Also, looks like the previous owner rebuilt that back to back on driver's side? Can't have come that way from the factory!!

Nope, that wasn't factory innards. I got the Weis seats, holding up well. Just use the vinyl protectant regularly .

Tempress seats arrived today. Very pleased with them. I had some small seats temporarily and that worked just okay. I really appreciate having more room on the boat.
Needed a cup holder at the helm, too:
