I need to replace the bow roller on my trailer and noticed the most popular option is from CE Smith and rather than being a V in shape, it has this strange shape where the center is flat. Has anyone used this? Any issues?

There is a problem with the older type that allows the tip of the bow to be pushed hard into the rubber in the center of the roller without the sides touching the roller. This often cracked the center of the roller mostly because not all bows are the same angle. This newer type allows for more bow surface of any angle to touch the roller instead of just the tip. This is better than the old type. Let's just hope that the materials used are of good quality.;

Don't see an advantage or disadvantage.....I just switched to a " Ramp & Clamp" device, so far great !!

I have the same shape on 2 of my boats. One has a pointy stem and fits tight against the center of the roller. The other has a rounded stem and only contacts the outer edges. Both work fine - no problems.

The only issue I see is that it is black rubber. Both of mine are poly, which in my experience lasts a lot longer and is non-marking.
