Re: New boater

More info needed.
What year is the 70 hp motor?
Does the starter engage and turn over the motor?

Re: New boater

Welcome to Iboats!

Word of wisdom.....NEVER use starting fluid on a two cycle engine! The engine bearings rely on the oil mixed with the gas to lubricate everything in the engine. Starting fluid will flush the oil out of the bearings and cause some serious damage.
The proper thing to use is to mix some premix (50:1) gas and oil and put it in a spray bottle and spray it directly into the throats of the carbs to try and get it to run.
If this engine sat for awhile it sounds as if the carbs need to be pulled apart, completely cleaned and new parts installed and set properly.
Enjoy your bat and stay safe!

Carb kits are available here at iboats.
You will need 3 kits, one for each carb.
They must be synchronized with each other as well as to the ignition system.
That is why you need a good manual to guide you through the process.
The carbs need to be removed, disassembled and cleaned throughly or you're wasting your time.
I also would recommend replacing all of the fuel lines at this time, or you may be doing this again.
