New boater oil injector question

I just bought a boat with a 1991 oil injected 40 horse Johnson.<br />The boat is a fixxer upper the the motor runs good<br />but I'm wondering if there is way to make sure the oil injector is working. The exhaust has a blueish tint to it. When I bought it I had the guy let it idle for about 20 min. and no buzzers or horns came on. I did a search to make sure this topic wasn't covered a million times before and came up empty handed.<br />Any advice or ideals would be appreciated.<br /><br />Shane

Do a search on VRO you will get lots of posts and replies.<br /><br />A simple check is:<br /><br />Mix the fuel in tank 1:50 - the extra oil in a short periode will not harm the motor. Fill oil tank with i. exa 1 gallon of oil and mark level exact with speedmarked or tape. Run i.ax 2 tanks of gas this way. Measure amount of oil consumed and you will know your system functions. After that use gas only and let the system oilmix.
