We finally did it! We just brought home our new to us boat - a 2008 Four Winns Horizon 200! Previous owner never got much chance to use it so it has less than 20 hours on it but a full maintenance history! The boat was stored, winterized & maintained where it was bought new back in 2008 so it has an excellent history. Boat condition is like brand new!

Very excited to be moving on up to the 21st century in boating. It'll be sad to see the old Century go & in some ways I'll miss the OMC Stringer drive, but it's time to move on to bigger & better.

Anyhow, just wanted to share. Here's some pictures from when we were in the process of purchasing it. I'll have to get some better pictures for the gallery at some point: https://picasaweb.google.com/102782264640776793236/2008FourWinnsH200#

Now the waiting for spring to come....

Wow. . . a Four Winns with a Mercruiser . . . that is a nice boat !!! :D

Based on the pictures you took, it looks like you know the things to address over the winter. :thumb:

Store the drive in the down position. Is it going to be stored inside? Looks like the kids are enjoying it already

Nice SB, congrats and enjoy. Fun how the kids and better half already are clamoring aboard despite dry land.

As your pics show you already know, much of that bilge will clean up nicely and a coating of CorrosionX or similar will keep her like new and protected. I had a similar find and despite service record confirmation, went ahead and did new bellows, impellar, fluids, etc. Though my trailer tire treads looked great, the sidewalls had broken down from sun so put new sneakers on as well. Same for axle bearings and grease. It'll give you some enjoyable tinkering while waiting for spring.

Thanks all! Been neck deep in boat fiddling for a few years now with the old Century so I'm not too concerned about taking on this new boat at all. I've checked all the things mentioned & plan on doing the wheel bearings this year along with some cleanup but the rest is pretty much ready to go. Tires are in great shape & there's no dry rot on any of the rubber anywhere. I'll double check some maintenance items, but I think it's all good.

I'd spray some WD40 on the engine parts. From the pics it looks like someone bathed the powertrain in degreaser and then hosed it off.

Mostly agree but I'd never use D 40. Use 6-56 by CRC Marine,,,,, found everywhere marine products are sold.
