New and need help

I just purchased my first boat, 1979 Glastron T-166XL. It has a 1980 100 hp Johnson outboard J100TRLCSC. The previous owner said that he mixed the fuel 40:1. I was just curious if this was correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All 2 stroke outboards from the mid 60's on use 50:1 TCW-3 oil.
