I'm new to boating and in the market for a new 20-21' bowrider. I've looked briefly at Monterey, Chapparal, Regal, and Larson. Any comments from owners out there on any of these manufacturers? What's the best boat for the $$?

thanks

Welcome to iboats rsw215 :)

There are lots of different factors to consider in what's "best". Best construction, engineering, features, finish, looking, resale, riding, seating, skiing, workmanship, etc. Each model has different strengths. Each buyer has different priorities.

To further confuse things, prices will vary significantly from dealer to dealer. So a boat that is good bang-for-the-buck in one town may be overpriced in the very next town.

My own preference would be the Monterey. But those other brands have plenty of fans too. Here are some more links -

a BIG thing to think about is the Tow car

In the 19 ' range you can use a mid size when you get up to 21' a full size becomes nessary and has a big inpact on total cost

when considering a bow rider also look at the newer desinged deckboats, handles like a bow rider, just more spacious. we bought 23' Chris Craft w 5.7L VP., fantastic boat. and i've had 5 bowriders.
