Never got to 10,000 posts!

Just had a post, regarding my visit to Washington DC to see my son, uncerimonioulsly poofed. It did contain a modest political referance.

I no longer have the time or interest in this website for either boating issues or other mundane subjects that have nothing to do with what we are facing in this nation.

My limit has been reached. This is my swan song.

What? You can't go ??? You're a fixture here Boomer, I was only just getting to know you, and appreciate your posts, and admire your point of view, as well as many other posters on this forum. I wish you wouldn't leave, you'll surely be missed, but Good Luck either way! Mike D.

Good grief man, I haven't been on the site very long but I have seen allot of your post and some of your threads, Take care but consider that you do have friends hear. So in other words something happened to his post about his visit with his sun and it got taken off for a certain political reference. Correct me if I'm wrong.

the way i see this site is that it's about boats. repair, replace, maintence, modifieing, also, boating safety, weather, tech info, electronic, destinations..... you get my drift man. so ya can't swear or degrade others. our political and religious views are irrelivent and are unwanted and unnessesary, regaurding boating. seems simple and certainly civil enough to please everyone with their boating problems....i take it for what it is.....boating education. the political stuff to me is funny, sick, demented and shows how much we can't get along. BUT. we can all talk about something we all love. and thats boats. it's about the boating experieces you've had, maybe you know something i don't and i need to know. other way around too. this site seems to me to be wanting to be factualy oriented to boating, and nothing else.....a place to help to learn as much as possible about boats and the experience.......and to help others that ain't as hip as us. were all at different levels.... it's always a sad day when someone with something to contribute to the cause leaves the sceen......

this is a strict site for sure......part of me likes that......question authority.....

I hear ya Ziggy, I didn't start coming to the other forums like hear at Dock side chat, or stupid human tricks until the day before yesterday. I guess because everything else has slowed down on the site, and also I got one part of my modification figured out so I am done on one thread basically just got to put the final touches to it. And the site has helped finish other projects or task to. But this site really has helped bring back the technical side and creative side of me though, and of course helped build my knowledge on boats.

I'm not surprised. Its interesting to watch the "old timers" leave. Although most just stop posting without making a good-bye post.

Boomy bailing is a real black eye to iboats.

I do wish to thank Boom for his turkey brine. I will think of him at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Being able to discuss just about anything for the past 5 years (for me) and have it changed because of different opinions is hard to get use to.

I was wondering how much longer ol' Boom would last after the crack down. Sad to see him go. iboats just lost another valuable contributer, and the tech forum members lost a valuable resource. And for sharing the famed Brine Turkey recipe Boom has my eternal thanks. Boom you will be missed. And now a moment of silence please............................................

I mostly lurk around now. I had slowed down because the political/religious threads were getting out of hand.

Now with the overcompensation the other way, it seems to have sucked the life out of the place.
