I have a 1990 Chaparral 2050SL with a Mercruiser 4.3 and I think the Neutral safety switch is bad. I have had no luck finding a replacement switch or how to fix it. ANY and ALL advice is appreciated!!!

That's a good question. If I take the 2 screws out and mess with the handle it will eventually start. I am not 100% sure that is the problem. It will run great for 30 minutes, I shut it off and it won't restart.
Thanks for your quick reply!

If you turn the key and gauges turn ON, then it could also be the key switch or the slave relay. Need to get a meter to see what voltages your getting.

If gauges do not turn ON then it could be the kill switch

On mine the neutral safety prevents the starter from turning when I turn the key but everything else is on and the kill switch allows the starter to turn but no start with everything on.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... Does the starter not engage, or it turns over, but doesn't start,..??

It never turns over. There is no clicking or engaging of the starter. In the next few days I will have time to work on it. I will take pictures and have a better idea. I was not aware there is a kill switch.
Thanks for the replies!!!
