Neep Help: Engine starts but will not run...

I just purchased a 1995 Regal 256 Commodore with twin Mercruiser 3.0L Alpha ones.

My port engine starts and runs fine... My starboard engine starts but idles terribly and then stalls. I can keep it running by pumping the throttle but as soon as I stop it dies. It also sounds like it's sucking air when I pump the throttle.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

If you have carbs, take the flame arrestor off and put your hand over the top of the carb and slowly cut the air supply out. If it ran better you have a vacumn leak somewhere. If not, could need a carb rebuild.
