Need verification on 25hp Evinrude

I've been looking for a 25hp for my jon boat and a friend of mine found one 100 miles away and I was wondering if this serial# 1E25RLCSA is a match to a 1980 25hp short shaft Evinrude with an oversized block. Also wondering what years were made with motor locks I'm told this motor never had one. Thanks! for the help and thanks for the use of this message board. Greg

That engine is a 1980 25hp but I the "L" in the model nr. stands for long shaft. I can't help with the over-sized block and lock.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

Hooty, Thanks for the info, I'm bummed on it being a long shaft but the price is right so I may go ahead and get it anyway. When it comes to outboard questions this is the place to go there's just a wealth of information on this forum and I know I'll find the answer to my questions here. Thank you all, Greg
