I had the same problem a couple months ago. Ended up renting a very nice 8K roller trailer from a local marina for 4 days. In my case it was a 'friend-of-a-friend' thing, but they are out there. Call around until you hit paydirt.
In my case it was rented 'all-risk', meaning if I damaged or destroyed the trailer then I would be held responsible for it. My insurance agent checked into it and found that a rental trailer was covered if someone were to hit ME.
