need to paint the bilge what to use

hello guys I have the engine out and I would like to repaint by bilge is a 1987 searay what kind of paint should I use thanks.

Why does it need to be painted?

Is it painted now?

Gelcoat, BilgeKote Or an oil enamel w/ hardener added

Prep will need to be thorough to ensure good adhesion

Use a very light color, it'll brighten it once you put the motor back in and put the doghouse back over the motor

was painted before but the paint is washing out. and the engine is out so I'm rewiring everything and want to paint it.

It'll need to be prepped well in order for the paint to adhere. Acetone washdown and scrubbing would be my recommendation. As noted, Bilgekote is good but Rustoleum PRO with added hardener might be a bit cheaper and would work really well too.
