I am a very novice boater and am trying to plan an exotic vacation in which I would cruse Europes canals and rivers on a small 18 to 20 foot fiberglass boat.
In order to plan for this trip I need to know the approximate gas mileage that I could expect with a boat that is probably a little bit heavier than those used by bass fishermen and powered by a 10 hp outboard, probably a Yamaha or Honda.
Thanks

Re: Need to know about outboard fuel consumption

Welcome to the forum , Bill. Fuel consumption should be around 1 gallon per hour. But a more accurate rate can be done by driving the boat 2 hours, and time it.Then refill the tank. Devide the gallons you put in by 2, and you'll have a good average fuel consumption rate.
Good luck, and bring a laptop,so you can check in, and let us know of your progress. That would be neat.

I think 12footer is about right. I believe you would have a hard time shoving more than that through a four stroke that size.
