That looks to be well above the waterline. If so, you can just fill it from the outside with kitty hair poly putty, sand it smooth and try to match the metalflake finish.
If it was below the waterline or more structural, I would recommend you grind the hole to taper and make it oval, then glass the inside of the hull with the glass thickness matching the original fiberglass, and then use layers of glass cut small, and then larger to match the ground out area.
You can get away with polyester resin, for most repairs, but if in doubt, use epoxy resin and laminate all the glass cloth with one batch of resin.
