Need some way of identifying model # for a 1990 Force 90HP

Here is the scoop. I got a fantastic deal from an older gentleman that I work with on this 1990 Blue Fin Spectrum 17’ aluminum deep v boat. It is the 1706 model. However I’m facing a drawback. The serial # plate attached to transom mount is completely faded out. I can make out the manufacturer, but when it comes to model # and serial # those are like empty boxes.
I’ve scoured the internet looking for casting #’s, hidden second serial #’s and so on with little to no luck. I have found numbers but when researching them they don’t return a valid result. I have called Mercury Marine outboard and talked with some great folks over there but they and the people that have been around for awhile couldn’t come up with anything either. I’ve seen in some forums to use a black light and it should illuminate the numbers but it hasn’t worked. Any ideas, locations, and general help would be greatly appreciated.
here’s what I have for numbers and the basic location:
from the title: AR430BXC as the manufacturers is #.
719518 - from the back side by plug #1 on the head
719 - from the top of the block
906061 - or 190906 (depends on which way you look at it) from below the flexible exhaust outlet
H 0 355 - near the bottom of the block stamped horizontally
P756L28 - rotated 90° on the back of the block by the H 0 355 marking.

hull id #: BFFA12JBF990 affixed to starboard side of transom per the norm.

any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I will send photos as I can.

Bluefin is/was a Spectrum product(I think) send the hull ID# to them and they can give you all the info for the motor that was sent out with the boat.
Under the bottom carb on the intake is a foundry stamp.
Also under the packs/coils on the block is another foundry stamp.
Won't give the model/serial #s just the year.

Thanks for the info on the carbs and such, I know it is a 90HP-1990 model with prestolite ignition I’ve pulled the ignition plate and found some numbers but they do not coincide with anything relevant to serial or model number.

Often the starter has a tag with info on it, but probably faded by now.

What specifically do you need the model number for?

Photos of ignition plate and fuel pump should help to verify.

I’ll take a peek on the starter to see if can see it. The Oklahoma tag agency for some reason doesn’t have Force motors in 1990 and 90HP in their system and for them to add it they have to email Oklahoma City admins to get it added, but they can’t add it without the model. It’s kind of a strange situation. I’m contemplating giving them the closest model number that I think it would be and then they should assign an OKZ####### type of serial number to the motor since the data sticker is not readable.

I’ll go take some photos as soon as it cools down a bit way too much black and hot sun makes for burnt hands and heat stroke. The sad part it is t even summer yet!

There you go. I vote for 806F90C.

The model number changed every time the used a part from a different supplier.

I can't believe you have to register that motor.

Yeah in Oklahoma anything 10hp and above has to be registered total it’s like $40 for a 3 year tag. The good news is you don’t have to register trailers unless the are for commercial use. So win/lose. In Kansas you have to register a trolling motor even if that’s your only source of (non-human aka paddles) mechanical power. Also in KS you have to register your trailer and it’s more expensive and it takes forever to get paperwork back from the state.
But in other news the guy I bought it off of had paperwork from the Missouri highway patrol because he had issues with the trailer VIN plate being faded. So they got the motor as well that AR# is an Arkansas # for the boat motor because of missing/faded vin plate. So this issue has just rolled through 3 states now. Where I live it’s only 12–15 minutes to KS, 25 minutes to MO and 35 to Arkansas. Got to love it! Thanks all.

Blue Fin, spectrum, brunswick, fisher, and.... have all been bought-sold-relocated-combined-split up, several times over the last 30 years. I doubt you will find any shipping or sales records from boats sold 30 years ago.
