I Have a 1990 bayliner capri 2050 with the 3.0 alpha 1 drive. Typical story..... I bought the little motor now I would like to pull a little top end out of it. I can run what shows to be 38 trimmed out mphs. I know rpm at wot is critical however my tach is not functioning properly. I have a 14 1/4X 17 prop and at wot the motor sounds like it wouldnt hurt much to slow it up a couple rpms. I have good takeoff considering the powerplant, and I know I need to get the tach fixed, also know thats pretty good top end for what I have, but if anyone has any good input I would sure put it to good use. 3 blade or 4? I need to get a backup prop and would like to get one to pull 1 or 2 mphs out at my current rpm without drastically affecting takeoff. Aluminum or Stainless? THANKS FOR ANY HELP GIVEN!!!!!!
