Need lone star advise

I have here a 56 lone star sportster. I've found no information on this old girl but an old brochure which shows no original photo but only a drawn black and white photo. It's like it never existed. None for sale on line no info or anything. I would like to restore it to its original look. Does anybody have info and or pictures of what original decals and/or paint should be. Also I would like to know what it is worth in current state and restored.

This may be where you saw the picture you're referring to. That model was a utility semi v so there may not be many examples left to compare it to. Basically it is a 12 foot 50's john boat albeit better than a flat bottom boat for ride. The value as it sits is probably only a few hundred dollars and restored so to speak is only going to be a little more unless you can find someone looking for that exact model.

It looks like a good candidate for a resto even with the add ons and mods to the seats that have been done over the years. However unlike cars it will be unlikely you will add much extra value to the boat by doing a complete back to original resto on this boat as opposed to making it water ready again.

Thank you for the responses. I was talking to my dads friend (the guy that sold it to me) turns out this boat was a coast guard john boat. It was a gift from the coast guard to his grandfather when he retired in 68. The boat was scheduled to be replaced so they let him have it as a parting gift. He said he may have some old photos of what they had it look like and what motor was on it. So I think I might try to replicate that instead. I'm really looking forward to it
