Probably dumb question but, restoring boat and it still had the old fuel filter/ water separator attached to it.
It's a parker racor 320r-rac-01 with the racor s3227 filter. This hooked up to a Yamaha 115. Not sure if it was 2 stroke or 4 stroke.
I put a 100 evinrude on it that used to have VRO but has been disconnected so need to use 2 stroke now.
I have tried googling it but there's no answer for actuall Parker racor filters. The replacement filters Seirra and Mallory state that they
do not remove 2 stoke but I can't find any listings that state if the racor does.

No, none of the fuel filters that I'm aware of remove oil from gas. If they could the gas would have a real hard time passing through it as well

That remove-the-oil thing is an old wives tale that refuses to die. Just simply not true.

Just for fun I used to go into hi-fi / stereo shop and asked if the " noise filter " on my amplifier needed changing.---Try it sometime.----For my truck I ask for a longer dip stick because the one I have does not reach the oil.----Always worth a chuckle.

Hilarious, but so sadly it is true. Not just Canadian Tire either. But I have to admit our local NAPA is pretty professional. Unless you ask for Sierra parts. Most never heard of them.

I have run hundreds of hours using 2 cycle gas/oil mixture engines in boats and other equipment and not once did I ever use any fuel/water separator and never had any issues either. Am I missing something here?
