Hi All!

I have a 2001 Bayliner Capri 2150. I have to do a minor repair to the floor.... and i'm ripping all the old carpet out. It is old and worn. I fish in my boat from time to time but mostly use it for lake/bay riding and pulling a tube/skier. I'd want to cover the floor with a rubberized paint (Tuff Coat or Kiwi) and get snap in carpet. I know that sanding/degreasing and getting it spotless is a must. Should i fiberglass it as or will the existing surface and the coating be sufficient? I'm pretty handy around the house but this is my first big marine project and I'd prefer not to screw it up. Also, I have ZERO experience with fiberglass work. Thanks for any help/advice in advance!

What MINOR repair to the floor are you attempting. Many BL Capri's have significant issues :"Below the Deck" and a soft spot in the floor is usually the first symptom of these issues. A better description of your issue is warranted.

Agree with WOG....what minor work on your floor is needed. If the floor is soft, you have bigger issues than the floor as the underlying structure has most likely rotted
