How close together can I have in hull penetrations in my 2006 trophy pro model 2359. I would like to put in a new Transducer in the hull Airmar B164, which is three and three-quarter inch penetration in the hull and it would be approximately 4 inches away from a through haul penetration from a water intake. Here is a photo of where I would like to put it.

Distance isn’t an issue, per se.
The issue is the turbulence generated by said protrusion with the boat in motion.

Just make sure the transducer is in front (fore) of any protrusions in the hull.

My transducer is just slightly off the keel, flanked by intakes on both sides. Roughly 6” in front of the intakes

Thanks for the feedback. My transducer would only be about one inch ahead of the water intake and approx. 4 inches to the side. My only other option would be a transom mount.

It looks like a fiberglass bottom , so you might want to think about not drilling through but instead have the transducer flat on top of the fiberglass ( through hull instead of through the hull). another option would be a faring block.

That's what was in there but it finally failed. I dont want to pull the v8 engine to replace it. $2000 to pull the engine and put it back in plus the cost of the transducer.

The picture is missing a reference to the center line.

Is that "1" ahead" referencing the center lines of the two or their circumferences?

Considering it's a B series transducer, you could move it further off center line to give a bit more separation?

Also here is the tight space in the bilge where the transducer would barely fit. For some reason this area is a little thicker hull than adjoining areas. The transducer would require a 3 3/4” hole which would fit inside the black lines in the photo. The gasket and large brass nut is approximately 5.5” diameter. I removed the batteries to gain access to this area.

Why? Interested in your reasoning.
Does not require another hole in the boat hull. Leaves the existing not leaking transducer alone. Transom mounted transducer are less expensive then “through hull transducer”. Easy to install and to remove.
It is important to properly seal any fasteners into transom to protect the transom core.
Short, sweet and done.

No surprises that you might find installing a “through hull transducer”.
As we used to say “boring is good with cranes and boats!”.

Have you seen the size of the comparable TM260 transducer?
Similar in size to a "paving brick" hanging off the transom.

Know a couple of guys that tried route when they first came out... no thanks

I have one of those for my Furuno 588 It may look a bit bulky but it does a great job. the only problem is the narrow cone.

Went with the B60 thru hull back in my Furuno days for the 45 degree cone angle.

Switched to Garmin CHIRP with side scan when it came out. The CHIRP unit supports the B60 so I left it. Less interference than the transom mount GT-51M when running

It doesn't......use an A/B switch.
The B60 is better at high speed and has better bottom discrimination.
Switch over to the GT-51M transdcuer for CHIRP and side scan functionality

Thank you for all the feedback. I’ve made the decision to install the Airmar B164-20-Ray. It’s going to be a tight fit where I wanna put it but should work fine. I have to admit I’m nervous about drilling a three and three-quarter inch hole through the bottom of the hull, but it has been done many times by others with good success. Long-term I think I’ll be happy with the in hull Transducer versus the transom mount. The Airmar technical service people recommended the in Hull versus the transom amount. I don’t have room for their special wrench to tighten the nut on top, but I should be able to use some large slip joint pliers. The Airmar people said it doesn’t have to be very tight.
