I jusy took out a 1999 marada 198 ske 305 inboard. It has a alpha1 out drive. It ran good but don't know what to look for. How smooth or rough it is supose to run

if its a 1999 it should run and shift pretty smooth

Hello, I am new to this and hopefully this message will go through. I have a 20 hp Mercury on my pontoon boat.I need to know the year. The serial# is 5082332. Also leaks lower unit oil. Was empty when I went to winterize. Where can I get a good repair manual on this motor?? Ran good all season here in Indiana. But with no oil. Guess I got pretty lucky. Thanks for any help.
