Ok need some help here. Bought a used boat with a 1974 115hp johnson that starts and runs across the water great. My only problem is the reverse. Yesterday was the first day I took her out and right off the bat I could tell reverse wasn't fully functional. When I shift it into reverse I can hear the gears lock in and I'm churning the water like nobody's business but I'm barely moving. So I drove it up and down the lake and she ran was ideling beautifully but still couldn't reverse. When i got home I put the water hose on it and the prop is turning like it should in reverse so I'm not sure what's going on. Could it be my prop? The prop is pretty beat up and not sure if that would effect the reverse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
