any Johnson/Evinrude 1980 and newer uses the following code for model year...the word INTRODUCES...I=1...N=2 T=3...R=4...O=5...D=6...U=7...C=8...E=9...S=0....then drop the last letter from the model number and the last 2 letters in model=year

15R75C is 1975...9123R is 9.5hp 1971 model...the aftermarket parts company called Sierra has an excellent JohnRude model guide in their catalog
