Hey everybody,

currently my boat is at the marina (a trusted one), and they are re-sealing my gearcase (I know I am going to catch some flack for not doing it myself but with the electronic shift and manual not making it look easy I opted for last resort).

My problem is the dealer is having trouble finding all the seals. I figured I will see what I could do and maybe help them out. Is there somewhere that someone knows they can specifically find them all? Or does someone possibly know if they sell a secret kit?

The marina hasn't given up but I figured I would help them search.

Thanks in advance!

What seals are they looking for, in the parts breakdown I looked at all the seals, gaskets and o-rings are still available.

I honestly don't know which ones they need. But as you said I went to ********** because I like their breakdown and all the seals seemed available. What website are you looking at? I will find out for sure tomorrow when I talk to them on the phone which ones they still need.

Thanks for the imediate response!

I guess we are not allowed to say a competitors name. But to make my previous post make sense I used boats-net (where the "-" is put a period "." in)

Looks like you will need the following:
1 #77
2 #5
2 #46
2 #31
4 #33
1 #70
I think that's all you need.

67 and 68 (shims) aren't needed? On the phone I recall her mentioning something about them.

The shims are used to set the preload on the bearings, if you didn't replace the bearings, you shouldn't need to mess with the shims.

I'm wondering in my head if the marina is trying to replace the bearing seal assembly.. That is not normal gearcase resealing procedure, is it?

Not for me, I just replace the seals in the bearing housing. You might ask them if they are replacing the complete housing, in that case you might need the shims.
