Need help with finding Serial # 110 hp Merc 1970

Could anyone help with finding Serial # on this outboard...think its a 1970...#'s found 836-2485,here r some pics thx Ron

I think the number is a part or casting number. That vintage Merc should have a serial number plate on the tilt tube housing. Also the serial number may be stamped as shown below. Not your motor, but may be similar.

It truly is a 1967 1100ss by seril #....but the cowl is 125 hp?

The face plate is for a 1250, but that's where it stops. Rest of cowlings match up with the 1100. Says so on the back of the wrap.
