I HAVE A EVINRUDE MOTOR I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YEAR IT IS BUT IT RUNS AND IDLES GREAT BUT WHEN YOU PULL IT IN GEAR IT KILLS THE ENGINE WOULD ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THIS PLEASE EMAIL ME THANKS
You may be down a cylinder or two, Helen.

With the engine at idle, carefully disconnect the spark plug wires, one at a time. If pulling a plug wire causes the engine speed to drop, that cylinder is making power. If not, that is a dead cylinder. Check if the wire will make a hot, blue or white spark to the engine block.

Let us know your results and we will devise the next step.

By the way. This is not a live chat room.
