Re: NEED HELP WITH EVINRUDE MOTOR

Hi Helen
The first thing you need to do is determine where the leak is. If a gasket or rubber seal is found defective. Replace it. You may find a cracked or corroded housing, in this case you may have to replace this part, how ever quite a few times these can be welded. I don't really think we can do more for you until we know where the leak is comming from???

Re: NEED HELP WITH EVINRUDE MOTOR

Hi Helen
You may also have exhaust plate/manifold gaskets leaking. My best advice is for you to obtain a manual that covers this model. These books will probably not cover exhaust leaks per say, but once you understand how the motor works you will have a better idea of where to look. You are going to need a book to repair the thing anyway. I am not a manual salesman. You may find a copy at your public libaray or borrow one from a freind. Book stores carry them and so does I-boats at the bottom of the page.
